That’s a lie. What I really want you to know is that the death toll in Puerto Rico is probably around 4,600 dead. That’s 70 times higher than Puerto Rican officials reported. It’s my hometown dead, almost 4 times over. It’s every kid in my high school dead from 1996 to 2012. It’s three times the death toll of Hurricane Katrina and almost as many soldiers who died in the Iraq War.
The Roseanne story is important, too. But please don’t forget Puerto Rico.
